Can Students in the last year of Articleship are allowed to opt for Industrial Training irrespective of whether you are in PCC/IPCC or Final ????

Karan Batra

Yes, as per rules framed by ICAI ,anyone (whether in PCC/IPCC or Final) can opt for Industrial Training in the last year of articleship.

But Companies prefer to recruit those who have qualified PCC/IPCC

can anybody explain me what is industrial training?

R.Veeraraghavan

However where MRAs have been executed including the one with ICAEW , mandatory Articleship are in those by-gone days and is an outdated method or atleast an alternative method. They have a scheme of mentored training with option to training seekers through either approved training providers(employers and practitioners).
ICAi on the contrary inisists a student to place himself or herself with a practitioners which is very restrictive and at times may be a disadvantageous exposure.
Thus for instance if you are a CPA australia and want to become a member of ICAI you are welcome even if you have not done articleship under a practicing CPA-there the ICAI has accepted the package recognition of work experience and for indian students no.
For instance though there is no MRA with ICSI and ICWAI there is no recognition to the experience gained by the members of that institute in employment even if he/she was an CFO of the company, he is supposed to sit under any practitioner(even if his practice is one day old).
I think ICAI as a statutory body cannot have such a restrictive clause and yet be partial for international alliance.

R.Veeraraghavan

while it is exactly the opposite when a ICAI members pursue icwai or icsi course i really do not understand how icai still demonstrates that articleship is the mode of training for accountants, where the world has recognised it as a mode of training of accountants.
May be we have to look at the pattern of membership to know more about the development of this profession-is it developing family and heredity of areas of practice.

Karan Batra

I agree with you R. Veeraraghavan

Although ICAI tends to change the course every few years, it never tries to look into the basic problems in articleship. Although they say that they focus on – on the job learning, but ICAI has never been able to implement this thing properly

nishant agarwal

i think the icai is not been able to manage the ca firm properly they are exploiting the students by giving dumies

Sushil Kumar

I am working with Mahindra Holidays & resorts india Limited as an Asstt. manager Finance. Is it necessary for me to work as an articled.

Manisha Bakshi

@ Sushil
